Castor oil, often called wonder oil, truly lives up to its name. It, makes hair grow, shine and appear fuller, helps heal wounds, and has antifungal and anti-immflamatory properties. Packed with antioxidants, vitamin E, and omega-6 fatty acids, it’s incredibly nourishing and restorative.
From an Ayurvedic perpective, its known for its grounding and warming qualities, to balance dryness and cold (vata) and for supporting detoxification in the flow of the body.
And here is how you can use it…
Hair & scalp: due to its high content in Omega 6 & 9 fatty acids it supports healthy hair growth, adds shine, and helps with dry scalp, flakes and irritation. Massage the castor oil on dry hair, let it rest and wash with a mild shampo
Brows & eyelashes: Encourages fuller and stronger brows & lashes. Apply a tiny amount before going to bed.
Nails: strengthens brittle nails and softens cuticles. Apply daily for a period before going to bed.
Dry & sensitive skin: thanks to the vitamine E it deeply hydrates and protects from the dryness of water, ideal to use under the shower. It also supports skin healing (small wounds or craked skin).
Menstrual support: thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties (ricinoleic acid) it is traditionally used to ease menstrual discomfort. Massage into your belly and place a warm water bottle on top to ease cramps.
