Winter Harmony with three simple tips

The cold weather and the festive celebrations can leave us feeling depleted and without energy.
Move at ease through this season by aligning your movement and herbal intake with the winter.

Time for extra nourishment

The digestive fire is in fact the strongest in the winter (which explains the stronger appetite) and therefore it needs extra nourishment. Increase the intake of warm, heavier & sweet foods. Keep cooking veggie soups and stews. Try roasted pears with cloves or applesauce with cinnamon. Use sufficient warming, blood moving spices such as ginger, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon & black pepper.

Prevent body & mind stagnation. Stimulate circulation

Massage yourself regularly with a warm or uplifting oil: it protects against the cold, stimulates circulation and provides extra nutrition to your tissues.

  • to calm the nervous system, pre-shower herbal oils like Sugandhadi with ashwagandha will do the job. You can warm it up immersing the bottle in hot water in the sink.
  • to fight against winter blues and excess heaviness (Kapha), aromatic after-shower  Orange & Neroli Body Oil comes to the rescue.

Sleep well

By sleeping well in winter, we allow the body to repair, ground, and store energy, helping us stay resilient, calm, and healthy through the darker months.
Try to go to bed early & avoid eating after 20:00. To support your bedtime you can drink nourishing calming drinks, such as warm milk with nutmeg.

To support deep sleep and wake up with more energy you can introduce a simple comforting ritual before you go to bed: massage your temples and jaws with Deep Sleep Nidra Oil, close your eyes and apply an eye pillow to go within, calm the nervous system and chillax, chillax, chillax.
